I’ve heard about this book a few times over the last year or so: Car Guys vs. Bean Counters. It’s Bob Lutz’s book on what went wrong at GM, and, apparently, what’s going wrong in American companies in general. It’s a book I think I really need to read. It seems to be very much the same basic message embodied the Steve Jobs quote from my last post.

I’d buy it today except for some inexplicable reason, the Kindle edition is $18.99 whereas the paperback is $10.79. I don’t really do paperbacks—or physical books of any kind—anymore. I’ve discovered that I’m simply less likely to read it if it’s a physical book. And on principle, I won’t pay $18.99 for an e-book that I can get in paperback for just over half that.
